Donating Blood
Blood is a precious commodity with a limited shelf life. Red Blood cells must be used within 42 days. Platelets must be used within 5 days. And, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
The blood donation process from the time you arrive until the time you leave takes about an hour. The donation itself is only about 8-10 minutes on average.
