Partial Knee Replacements
When a total knee replacement is not appropriate someone may be a candidate for replacement of only one side of the knee or a partial knee replacement. Dr. Comrie can determine if someone is a candidate for partial knee replacement after an evaluation and discussion of treatment options.
Total Hip Replacements – Posterior and Anterior Approaches
Comrie takes time to explain all treatment options. With experience in both posterior and anterior approaches to hip replacements, his expertise is invaluable in providing comprehensive and tailored solutions for each individual.
Revision Total Knee Replacement
Leveraging his training and expertise in addressing pain and decreased function following a total knee replacement, Dr. Comrie has assisted numerous patients through knee revision surgery. Helping to decrease pain and improve function allows patients to return to their prior level of activity.
Revision Total Hip Surgery
Hip revision surgery is essential when the original implant wears out, becomes loose, or fails due to reasons like infection, multiple dislocations, or persistent hip pain and dysfunction. Dr. Comrie’s expertise in revision surgery ensures patients receive the care they need.
Hip Resurfacing
Hip resurfacing is a procedure to treat hip arthritis in some patients. The goal of this procedure is to relieve pain and improve function, allowing patients to return to an active lifestyle. Dr. Comrie is one of the few orthopedic surgeons in Kansas City to perform this procedure.

ABOUT DR. ROB COMRIE
Dr. Rob Comrie is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon practicing at Sano Orthopedics. He specializes in knee and hip conditions with a focus on joint reconstruction.
BACKGROUND
Dr. Rob Comrie specializes in knee and hip conditions focusing on total joint replacement.
Before beginning his career as a physician, Dr. Comrie obtained his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Physical Therapy degrees from the University of Missouri. During his five years as a physical therapist, he worked closely with patients recovering from a variety of musculoskeletal injuries. He became inspired by the idea of making a more profound impact on his patients’ lives and pursued a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University.
Following medical school, Dr. Comrie completed his orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State University at McLaren Macomb Regional Medical Center outside Detroit, Michigan. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction with the Fondren Orthopedic Group at Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Comrie’s care philosophy revolves around understanding his patients and their needs then formulating a comprehensive treatment plan to suit them. He remains at the forefront of medical advancements, leveraging the latest literature and technology to optimize patient outcomes. Cultivating meaningful relationships with patients and their families brings him fulfillment in his surgical practice.
