National PA Week

It’s National Physician Associate week and we are celebrating the amazing Physician Associates (PAs) at Sano Orthopedics!

Physician Associates (PAs) are essential to our practice and patient care.  They work alongside our orthopedic surgeons both in clinic and surgery to provide quality care for our patients.

What is a PA?

Physician Associates, often called mid-levels, physician extenders, and Advanced Practice Providers, are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. They are qualified to conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat injuries, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care and education, assist in surgery and prescribe medications. Additionally, they are able to perform many in-office orthopedic procedures, such as injections, casting, splinting, and fracture reductions.

Our PAs serve an important role in the patient life cycle. They have a focus and passion for orthopedics and are typically paired with one of our orthopedic surgeons to help manage consistency of care.

During National PA Week, we recognize the PA profession and its contribution to the nation’s health.  Our Physician Associates are essential to our patients and Sano.
