Cervical Disc Arthroplasty is a procedure that removes a damaged cervical disc and replaces it with an artificial disc device. A cervical disc replacement may be recommended to treat severe arthritis that does not respond to nonsurgical treatment. Dr. de Vere explains the difference
Dr. Stephanie de Vere, Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, recently spoke with the Kansas City Star about Sano’s new orthopedic urgent care. Sano opened the walk-in clinic in response to the global Covid-19 pandemic. It’s been a success, especially for patients experiencing low back pain.
While surgery is one treatment option for some people suffering from a herniated disc, surgery is not usually necessary to relieve the problem.
Symptoms may range from very mild to severe, but treating a herniated disc in its early stages can prevent symptoms from getting worse.

Dr de Vere performed a Lumbar Laminectomy surgery for me and did a wonderful job. I felt like she truly listens and never did I feel like my appointments were rushed. I was recommended to Dr de Vere by my PC Physician and I had better care than a larger hospital in KC.

This office is wonderful! Dr. DeVere is amazing. She explained my diagnosis and the results of my test in layman’s terms even though I have been in health-care for over 30 years. She thoughtfully went over every detail and I welcomed her treatment recommendations. I feel she really cares for her patients. It was a refreshing experience and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of her help!!

Let me start off by saying there aren’t Enough stars to pick for Dr de Vere and the five they offer here are not quite enough. I had an extensive spinal fusion surgery and was frankly walking into this blind and on faith. Dr. de Vere didn’t miss a beat from the first visit to my last she has a bed side manor that doctors just no longer have. The talent she exhibits is second to none. I am no longer draging my feet and legs to walk and the sciatic never pain is gone. I am back in the gym in less then 90 days and was back at work in 10 weeks. I am so grateful for Dr de Vere, her awesome nurse, the folks at Lees Summit Medical and my wife. Today at 54 years young I am a new man!!
