Shoulder instability can occur following a traumatic accident such as a fall or collision with another athlete or object. It can also occur without significant trauma or injury. A shoulder joint replacement treats an arthritic shoulder joint. The procedure is usually recommended to treat severe shoulder arthritis that does not respond to nonsurgical treatment options. Dr. Matthew Daggett is fellowship trained in advanced shoulder care and continues to utilize new technology and treatments that lead to better outcomes. His training and specialized focus has helped many patients find pain relief.
As the largest joint in the body, and one of the most complex, the knee joint plays an important role in one’s everyday life. With extensive training and research published on knee treatments, Dr. Daggett has helped many patients recover from patella instability. Conservative treatment can usually heal instability when diagnosed properly.
The lining of our joints are covered in a thick layer of cartilage that allows smooth and pain-free motion. Overtime or secondary to injury, the articular cartilage can become damaged and allow the underlying bone to become exposed. Cartilage damage can cause increased pain, catching/locking, crepitus, and joint swelling. For these localized cartilage lesions, there are many forms of treatment available to preserve the joint, return to an active lifestyle, improve function, and reduce pain without discussion of joint replacement. Dr. Matt Daggett specializes in joint preservation, and he has helped relieve pain for many complicated knee injuries.

The world of private medical practice continues to contract around him, but Dr. Matt Daggett has clearly staked out his turf as both a provider and an entrepreneur. The founder and president of Sano Orthopedics is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with an MBA in health-care leadership.
Biceps tenodesis is usually performed arthroscopically. The surgeon removes the painful part of the biceps, which usually resolves symptoms and restores normal function. After the surgery, the small wound is closed using stitches. Now, using needle arthroscopy, Dr. Matt Daggett uses local anesthesia, no general anesthesia, which means patients are awake during their surgery.
Dr. Matt Daggett is one of the first orthopedic surgeons to use Needle Arthroscopy. The new Nano tool is much smaller than the traditional arthroscope. Thus, this innovative technique, called Needle Arthroscopy, allows surgeons to treat certain injuries without general anesthesia or incisions. The result? Faster recovery.
An orthopedic physician’s goal is to successfully restore physical function and relieve pain. However, it is also critical for a physician to address the emotional and mental health of a patient. This topic is harder to discuss, but we feel it’s imperative to address it to help patients achieve better health. Dr. Matt Daggett is interviewed by Laura Probasco
Needle Arthroscopy offers many benefits to patients. We asked our patients about their surgery and recovery. Faster recovery immediately out of surgery was named first. Without general anesthesia, patients don’t wake up groggy. Instead, patients walk out of their procedure within minutes after surgery is completed.
Dr. Daggett and his team were fantastic, everything went according to plan. He’s actually one of the best surgeons for Arthroscopy in the Midwest. I trusted him from the very beginning to fix my ACL injury. Thank you so much for your dedication and passion for the job doc!
