Dr. Eckland’s Specialties
Fracture Care
A fracture signifies a break in the bone. Although typically very small, these fractures can result in a large amount of pain and potential complications. It is important to seek professional treatment for a fracture in order to set the bone properly before it begins to heal. Dr. Eckland has a special interest in fracture care for kids and adults.
Shoulder Reconstruction
A shoulder joint replacement treats an arthritic shoulder joint. The procedure is usually recommended to treat severe shoulder arthritis that does not respond to nonsurgical treatment options. Dr. Christopher Eckland’s focus on shoulder care has restored function to patients over the past 15 years.
Knee Ligament Repair & Reconstruction
(ACL, MCL, ALL, PCL, Meniscus Injuries) The knee is made up of many ligaments. Depending on the injury and lifestyle of the patient, conservative treatment or surgery may be necessary to provide stabilization of the knee. Our goal at Sano Orthopedics is to individualize your treatment plan through evidence-based medicine to maximize your chance to return to function without the risk of re-injury.
Rotator Cuff Repair
A sudden fall, accident or heavy lifting may cause a tear or partial tear to the rotator cuff. Depending on the injury, conservative treatment or surgery may be recommended. Dr. Eckland specializes in shoulder arthroscopy surgery with a primary focus on Rotator Cuff repair.
Pediatric Fractures
Many pediatric orthopedic injuries can be treated solely by external stabilization of the bone in a brace, cast, or splint. In some instances, surgical intervention is necessary for a full recovery. Dr. Eckland is an expert in sports injuries and fracture care, which includes kids. His primary goal is to promote healing of the bone in a normal position.
Sports Injuries
Even the safest of athletes can sometimes encounter joint wear and tear or an injury that can leave them watching from the sidelines. Dr. Eckland obtained a sports medicine fellowship at the Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, VA, and has been putting this training to use in treating athletes of all ages.
Knee Joint Replacements
Typically, arthritis is the most common reason for knee replacement surgery to be performed. Dr. Eckland is a board-certified knee specialist who has helped many patients return to function after knee replacement surgery.
